away day to Gargrave 2024

The annual club trip to Gargrave on Thursday 15th August turned out to be another successful day despite some pretty appalling typical British weather!

Attended by a number of club Members including several recently joined new Members, the day was held at the ground of Gargrave Bowling Club which as ever provided an excellent bowling surface, albeit rather wet on this occasion.

The final was contested by John Philipson and Rosemary Spencer (a previous runner-up on several occasions). Given a close contest John eventually ran out the winner. Afterwards, Members adjourned to the Masons Arms adjacent to the green for a hot meal and drinks before heading back home.

A big thank you to all who took part and especially to Rosemary for organising the day and Sue for sorting out the day’s competition.

We hope that next year the weather will be kinder!!
