We are a very friendly group of people who take pleasure from being out in the fresh air, coupled with playing a not over-strenuous sport whilst engaging in some cheerful banter. We do have a number of teams that play in local leagues but that doesn’t mean to say you have to, you can just come along and trundle a few bowls at your leisure if you so wish.

We cordially invite you to pop in and see us at anytime when the clubhouse is open, even if it’s only to come in for a cuppa and have a chat! You will be made most welcome. Hopefully we shall get to see you in the near future and who knows? You may just get ‘bowled over’ with the experience!

About Cullingworth Bowling Club


Cullingworth Bowling Club are a long established crown green bowling club situated in a lovely village on the edge of Bronte Country with very pleasant views over the countryside.The sport of crown green provides a different bowling experience to that played on a flat bowling surface. Crown green bowls is played on greens which have a raised surface around the centre of the green which means that to reach the target ‘jack’ can be a lot more of a challenge and indeed can often result in some funny and humorous moments!


As a club we offer an all inclusive facility for people of all ages and abilities, including those with physical and mental impairments, to participate in a sport activity that provides them with an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, get some exercise and experience a welcoming and friendly environment through meeting new people.

A Warm Welcome to All

We welcome visits from local community centres, care homes and individuals who would normally be house bound or unable to get out due to their circumstances.

As part of a new initiative we are establishing a Junior Bowls Section for youngsters who wish to participate in the sport and provide qualified coaching sessions as required. Coaching is also available for adults, both beginners and experienced players who would wish to further their skils in the sport.

We are open on certain days throughout the week during the bowling season, availability and bookings can be done either through our online booking facility.
